Elkhart, Indiana -- October 2007 -- For 2008, Azure Marine, part of the Bennington Marine Group, is introducing the AZ230 OB Sport Deck, a new 23-foot entry into the Azure line of sport boats, configured with Yamaha outboard engines.
The Azure sport boats come with a long list of technically advanced features and luxury appointments that make a strong visual styling statement. The long, curving lines are engineered for tremendous strength. The subtle S shaped curve of the gunwale, as well as the exciting feature lines molded into the hull, actually deliver enhanced rigidity and noise dampening without the need for extra thickness or weight. Azure matches this patented shape to its proprietary SureTrac running surface.
The patented SureTrac design has a 39-degree bow angle that tapers back to a 22-degree deadrise, the deepest V-hull on the market. The very deep V cuts through rough water easily, giving this Azure a smooth, steady ride and superior handling if weather turns foul.
The fit and finish on the Azure is excellent. Edges and mating surfaces have a high precision for what is, essentially, a handmade boat. This may be because, after layup, most shapes are cut with a huge, three-axis router designed for producing aerospace-style precision.
Features include a deluxe tilt steering wheel (stand or sit at the helm), connected to Sea Star hydraulic steering, complete digital instrumentation with fog-resistant crystals, lighted switches, and a good sound system.
The AZ230 is made with hand-laid, high-performance fiberglass, features a Vinylester Barrier coat below the waterline, premium gel coat with a two-year warranty, and stainless steel for many metal parts including cleats, telescoping ladder, rub rail and other hardware. It has a large swim platform. The AZ230 will accommodate 12 people. The boat comes standard with bimini top and boot as well as a trailering cover.
